Adriano Espaillat

Adriano Espaillat is an incumbent seeking re-election to represent Congressional District 13. He recognizes the importance of environmental conservation, and his legislation is reflective of that priority. A few of his highlights include his work on the global climate fund and the Secure E-waste Export and Recycling Act (SEERA), co-sponsoring the Green New Deal, establishing a program with the EPA to assist educational agencies in installation and maintenance of filtration stations at schools and child care facilities, requiring the EPA to provide funding to states and municipalities to replace water fountains manufactured prior to 2014 in playgrounds, parks, or libraries, creating a Climate Justice Working Group that advises the federal government towards a clean, climate resilient, zero-emission economy.  Moreover, he sponsored a bill recognizing that climate change most severely impacts vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in the United States and around the world, and that it is the responsibility of the United States Government to work with its global partners to promote environmental justice and climate. He plans to continue to advocate for bold climate action that addresses racial and economic injustice and infrastructure investments.
