Senator Jeff Klein Secures Funds For Hudson River Greenway

Could the long dreamed of pedestrian path along the Hudson River shoreline through the northwest Bronx soon become a reality? Thanks to $250,000 in federal funding secured by Senator Jeff Klein, the Hudson River Greenway is one step closer to fruition.

The money will go towards a new study to determine just how feasible it would be to expand the current path along the Hudson River as well as the possibility of closing the almost 3-mile long gap between the Bronx and Westchester that has long been a contentious issue among Bronx residents.

The study secured by Senator Klein will provide Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials with a formal plan for construction of a trail path that will work with existing Metro-North and Amtrak tracks while still giving people direct access to the river.

NYLCV is excited to see this huge win for our partners at the Hudson River Greenway and to see Senator Jeff Klein getting this huge win for the Bronx.
