On Sep. 6, 2016, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed legislation mandating all schools in New York to test their drinking water

On Tuesday, August 30th, the New York State Senate held the first of three hearings on the Hoosick Falls water pollution crisis. The hearings are intended to clear up confusion and explain in detail how Hoosick Falls’ water was contaminated, what efforts were made to clean up the hazards, and what the future holds.

After recent statements issued that ensured Hoosick Falls residents that they have safe, clean drinking water, we see another source of contamination that raises concern over the validity of those results. This time, the town of Petersburgh is exhibiting high levels of contamination.
