Ty Hankerson

Ty Hankerson is running for NYC Council District 28. As Chief of Staff to the current NYC Council Speaker, he’s helped deliver critical NYCHA upgrades and expanded green space across the city—especially in District 28. As councilmember, Ty will fight for park revitalization, more street trees to combat extreme heat, and cleaner, healthier homes through cool roofs, grid modernization, and energy-efficient appliances. He’s committed to improving air quality with local monitoring and training, expanding community cleanups, and working with small businesses to adopt greener practices. Ty’s vision is a greener, healthier, and more resilient District 28.
