Tom Suozzi

Congressman Tom Suozzi is running for re-election  in New York’s 3rd congressional district. Suozzi has been a steadfast supporter of the environment for decades. As the Mayor of Glen Cove, he orchestrated the $100 million cleanup of two Federal Superfund sites, a hazardous waste site, and numerous brownfields on Glen Cove’s waterfront. As the Nassau County Executive he implemented a $150 million program to protect water quality, improve parks, and protect open spaces. As a result of Suozzi’s environmental efforts, he was named the New York State Environmentalist of the Year by NYLCV in 2008 and received the 2009 Environmental Quality Award from the EPA. As a Congressman he continued his environmental leadership by increasing funding for the Long Island Sound by 1000%. He secured federal funds to reduce stormwater runoff and improve water infrastructure. Throughout his career in public service, Suozzi has been a dedicated environmentalist, earning a 98% LCV lifetime rating. If re-elected, Suozzi will continue to make environmental protection and climate solutions a top priority.
