Steve Stern

Steve Stern is running for re-election to the State Assembly in New York’s 10th district. Stern aims to move New York State to a cleaner future. He is a co-sponsor of legislation to address the threat of climate change, setting strong standards for a clean energy future. Stern served as a member of the Energy Committee and chaired the Renewable Energy Subcommittee. As a part of this subcommittee, Stern has supported legislation establishing new targets for offshore wind electricity generation. He is a proponent of establishing minimum recycling content requirements and standardizing recyclable materials, aiming to reduce waste. If re-elected, Stern will remain committed to maintaining funding for the Environmental Protection Fund, creating incentives for implementation of decarbonization initiatives including geothermal heat pumps, protecting and expanding clean water infrastructure, and more.
