Phara Souffrant Forest

Phara Souffrant Forrest is running for re-election for State Assembly in New York’s 57th District. She is a strong advocate for environmental justice. As an Assemblymember, she has worked to center public investments in renewable energy projects in disadvantaged communities. She has also been a strong proponent of increasing offshore wind. She is a proponent of establishing centralized organic waste composting, landfill bans, and standardized recycling standards to ensure waste reduction. Additionally, she supports adequate funding for environmental efforts, including the expansion of a green workforce focused on environmental justice for areas which typically depend on carbon-intensive jobs. If re-elected, Forrest will continue to fight for environmental investment in disadvantaged communities by holding polluters accountable for their harmful contributions to the environment.
