Peter Harckham

Peter Harckham is running for re-election to District 40 of the State Senate. Peter Harckham is Chair of the State Senate’s Environmental Conservation Committee and is a strong advocate for environmental action. During his time in the State Senate, he has worked to protect over one million acres of wetlands, prevent radioactive waste from being discharged into the Hudson River, and make geothermal energy more cost-effective. He is a supporter of offshore wind development, decarbonizing state-owned buildings, increasing waste reduction and food waste reduction, and increasing green jobs and education programs in schools. Harckham values his partnership with the environmental community and will continue to champion environmental policy if re-elected!
