Laura Gillen is running for election to an open seat in Congressional District 4. Gillen has fought to make her coastal area climate resilient and ensure access to clean resources for members of her community. As Hempstead Supervisor, Gillen organized her community’s revitalization after the catastrophic impact of Superstorm Sandy. Gillen took on polluters to help combat the high levels of 1,4 dioxane and PFOS in Long Island Water and preserve the health of her district. If elected, Gillen will continue to take action to protect shorelines most threatened by climate change and protect natural resources from pollution.
