Justin Sanchez
Justin Sanchez is running for NYC Council District 17. Growing up beside the Bruckner Expressway, Justin saw the health impacts of pollution firsthand—giving his baby sister albuterol for asthma by age 7. These early challenges shaped his commitment to building a cleaner, healthier, and more livable Bronx. As Director of External Affairs for Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and Chief of Staff to State Senator Nathalia Fernandez, Justin has pushed for bold environmental policies—and he’s ready to do the same in City Hall. Justin prioritizes transforming the Cross Bronx Expressway into greenspace, enforcing the Zero Waste Act, expanding recycling and containerization access, and fully funding NYC Parks. He also backs EV adoption, CUNY-led climate innovation, and stronger lead and air quality protections, especially for NYCHA residents.
