Iwen Chu

Iwen Chu is running for re-election to the State Senate in District 17. Chu is a co-sponsor of legislation to electrify public transport fleets and school-bus fleets and infrastructure. She is a supporter of waste reduction, aiming to achieve a 90% reduction in waste going to landfills and drafting legislation to educate New Yorkers on composting. Chu also aims to reduce on-road transportation carbon emissions by 20% by 2031. She is a strong supporter of developing offshore wind projects. If re-elected, Chu will continue to invest in renewable energy projects, prioritize clean drinking water, prohibit the use of toxic chemicals, and preserve natural resources.
