Andrew Gounardes

Andrew Gounardes is running for State Senate in the 26th District, and has been the incumbent since his election in 2018. Senator Gounardes supports legislation which includes holistic and comprehensive climate education into schools in order to teach children about climate change and environmental justice holistically throughout their lives. He has voted for the elimination of single use plastics and plastic bags and supports the expansion of recycling and composting programs in NYC. Gounardes co-sponsored Sen. Kaminsky’s EPR legislation and supports the Nourish NY program for the investment of farmlands. He received a perfect score on our scorecard.
