Andrew Gounardes

Andrew Gounardes is running for re-election to the State Senate in District 26. Gounardes has been a strong advocate for the environment. During his time in office, he has worked to introduce a holistic and comprehensive climate education into schools, prioritizing a complete climate-change and environmental justice education. His district’s coastline will be instrumental in the development of off-shore wind projects, and Gounardes is committed to responsible siting and funding for these efforts. He is also a supporter of clean transportation initiatives, sponsoring legislation with the goal of reducing vehicle miles traveled in New York State. Gounardes supports progressive waste management initiatives.
