Douglas Hertz
Doug is the President of Sunrise Solar Solutions in Briarcliff Manor, NY. He is responsible for technology, design, and finance for Sunrise. He is NABCEP Certified and is a member of the American Solar Energy Society and the New York Energy Industries Association. Doug spent 2 decades in lighting and electrical design for television, film and architecture before moving into solar. He gives talks on solar energy to groups from the Westchester Building Inspectors to the American Solar Energy Society, and is a frequent guest on radio, in print, and on energy panels throughout the Hudson Valley.
He graduated from Brown University and took his first alternative energy course back in the 70’s under the famed Barrett Hazeltine. He serves on the Mount Kisco Planning Board, is the founding chair of the Mount Kisco Energy Advisory Panel, and serves on the Mount Kisco Microgrid Committee. Dough has also served on the Hastings Green Code Committee, and currently sits on the Board of the Center for Sustainable Development as well as the New York League of Conservation Voters, Westchester chapter.
