Chuck Lesnick

Chuck Lesnick is running for Yonkers City Council President. As former Council President, he championed sustainable development, green infrastructure, and environmental justice. He helped initiate the Saw Mill River Daylighting Project, which revitalized Yonkers’ urban waterfront and improved stormwater management. Lesnick created the city’s first green policy task force, supported clean energy adoption, retrofitted school buses to reduce air pollution, and advanced transit access and zoning reforms for environmental protection. A member of local biking and paddling clubs, he also co-leads an annual Earth Day blessing of the Hudson River. If elected, he will continue prioritizing climate resilience, energy efficiency, and public health in Yonkers’ governance.
