Mercedes Narcisse

Mercedes Narcisse is running for re-election to represent District 46 in the New York City Council. Councilmember Narcisse has been a staunch advocate for environmental sustainability and resilience in her district. She has secured millions in funding for STEM education, including green innovation labs, and has partnered with NYCH2O and the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy on waterfront cleanups. If re-elected, Councilmember Narcisse will continue to champion policies to reduce building emissions through energy efficiency upgrades and clean energy adoption, and advocate for expanded solar energy. She will also work to advance green transportation alternatives, such as electric buses and ferries, and will fight for increased investments in coastal resiliency and natural shoreline protections. If re-elected she will support efforts to enhance waste management systems and promote sustainable infrastructure projects, including rain gardens and tree canopy expansion to improve stormwater management and heat resilience.
