Oswald Feliz

Oswald Feliz is running for re-election to represent District 15 in the New York City Council. Earning a perfect score from NYLCV three years in a row, Councilmember Feliz is committed to a pro-climate agenda for the City. In his time in the Council, he introduced and passed legislation requiring that the NYC Department of Transportation greenify street medians, helping to ensure all communities are able to enjoy the benefits of greenery. He also co-sponsored the Cap-and-Invest Program to help curb climate emissions, and is currently working on legislation to greenify city rooftops. In the past, he has worked with local green markets to ensure everyone can access affordable and healthy food options, especially in low-income communities. He has advocated for greater flexibility for solar panels in buildings, and is working to reduce pollutants caused by cars by capping the Cross Bronx Expressway. Councilmember Feliz has also pushed for restricting the provision of extra eating utensils and containers from restaurants, as well as eliminating some permits and filing fees for green building projects. Councilmember Feliz is proud to have sponsored all legislation that has been supported by NYLCV in the past and if re-elected will continue to be an environmental champion.
