Sandy Nurse
Sandy Nurse is running for re-election to represent District 37 in the New York City Council. Over the past three years, Nurse has led efforts to pass key pro-environment legislation, including the Zero Waste Act and the Public Solar Bill, both of which garnered the highest bipartisan co-sponsorship in the Council. She continues to push for transformative policies, such as expanding battery storage for public renewable energy, a pilot program for cooling pavement treatments that mitigate urban heat, and an action plan for Renewable Rikers. In addition to co-sponsoring a broad range of environmental legislation, Nurse successfully negotiated a $390 million sewer upgrade through the City of Yes proposal to address inland flooding in Bushwick. If re-elected Nurse will continue to be an environmental champion for all.
