Eric Dinowitz

Eric Dinowitz is running for re-election to represent District 11 in the New York City Council.

Eric Dinowitz is running for re-election to represent District 11 in the New York City Council. As a former environmental science teacher, Councilmember Dinowitz understands firsthand the importance of protecting the environment and combating climate change. In his first term on the city council, he sponsored several pieces of pro-environment legislation, including a bill that created a citywide climate action plan, and a bill which ensures that all school buses must be electric zero-emission by 2035. Councilmember Dinowitz will continue to fight for clean water, clean air, parks and green spaces. He sponsored a bill that would allow for the installation of solar panels on city-owned property and the utilization of city-owned lots for energy storage systems, storage for bicycles in city buildings, and for the  requirement of all public waste receptacles to be emptied by the Department of Sanitation at least once per day. Further, he sponsored bills that require the Department of Environmental Protection to create a map of the 10-year coastal flood risk area and increase the number of drinking fountains adjacent to public parks and green streets. Councilmember Dinowitz, if re-elected, will continue to be at the forefront of good environmental policy initiatives.
