The New York League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement following today’s meeting of the Climate Action Council:
Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters, said, “NYLCV is excited that today members were named to the Climate Action Council’s advisory panels and working groups. As the Council works toward the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act’s nation-leading carbon-neutrality and renewable energy commitments, these advisory groups will be critical to designing the roadmap for achieving these goals. I am also thrilled to be named to the transportation advisory panel. We cannot solve the climate crisis without addressing transportation – the leading source of emissions in New York and nationwide. As one of the leaders of the Clean Fuels NY Coalition, I’m looking forward to working on solutions to advance clean transportation, including our transition to clean fuels, more investments in our public transit, and more walkable and bikeable communities. I thank Governor Cuomo and the Climate Action Council for this opportunity.”
