NYLCV Gives Green Announces 17 New Endorsements Across the State

NYLCV Gives Green is excited to announce the final round of endorsements for the 2023 election cycle. With a total of 17 new endorsements, the League is proud to support candidates who have demonstrated a strong commitment to fighting climate change and promoting smart environmental policies. In this latest round, the League is endorsing candidates for legislative and executive offices in the Capital Region, Westchester County, New York City, and on Long Island.

“From apocalyptic wildfires and hazy orange skies to extreme flooding to record shattering heat, the climate crisis has arrived on our collective doorstep, and it is clear that voters are prioritizing the environment when choosing their candidate,” said NYLCV President Julie Tighe. “We are thrilled to endorse these outstanding candidates for elected office and are confident they will be strong advocates for clean energy, clean water, green jobs, and a healthier future. We urge voters to support them in their upcoming election.”

Today’s announcement brings the total number of NYLCV-endorsed candidates statewide to 131, the most in an off-year election in its 34-year history and an indication that the environment continues to grow in importance for voters. Of the 48 candidates from the first round of endorsements, 95% of them won their primary election, and the League looks forward to carrying this momentum into the general election and beyond.
