A Mixed Bag for the Environment in New York State’s New Budget
While we are pleased to see continued or increased funding for a wide range of environmental programs, we are disappointed that the budget fails to reflect our policy priorities including action to reduce single use bag waste, legislation requiring large generators of food waste to divert their food waste from landfills, the preservation of farmland, and reform of the 480-a forest tax abatement.
