Assemblywoman Paulin is a long-time fighter for environmental protection in the State Legislature. She has earned a perfect score of 100% on our State Environmental Scorecard for the past three years and running. She also sponsored legislation to promote renewable energy including fuel cells and solar energy – one of our top priorities.
Wilder Balter Partners is a residential real estate development firm in Westchester. They build using energy-efficiency standards, including Energy Star. They prioritize land and water conservation within developments, integrate their projects into the surrounding green spaces, and use eco-friendly building products and construction methods. One of their most recent projects, Chappaqua Crossing, was designed with energy-efficient appliances, and sustainable lighting and heating systems. As part of their 14 LeCount project, Wilder Balter committed to a Track 1 brownfield clean up – the most stringent state standard. Their Glassbury Court project was one of the first communities in the Lower Hudson Valley certified for LEED for Homes. Affordability is also important to Wilder Balter, as many of their developments are affordable housing projects.
The CAC advises the Village on conservation and sustainability issues including water, energy, and waste. They also developed and launched the first curbside food scrap recycling pickup service in Westchester County last year. Food scrap recycling helps reduce the burden on our landfills and decreases pollution. Reducing food waste is one of NYLCV’s top policy priorities. Since pioneering the first food scrap recycling program in the county, there are now nearly twenty towns in Westchester County with programs of their own.
We hope you can join us to celebrate this work, as well as major legislative wins for the environment that include enacting the nation’s strongest climate law, expanding micromobility options, and passing congestion pricing. Purchase tickets or become a sponsor here.
