Green spaces connect New Yorkers with nature and the environment, and this year we are excited to recognize Delaware North, as well as State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey and Governor Cuomo’s NY Parks 2020 Plan as our honorees for their extraordinary work in protecting and conserving New York’s environment. Delaware North, a global hospitality company based in Buffalo, makes positive environmental impacts at the state parks and other locations at which it operates, through its stewardship program, GreenPath. As part of the program, the organization has saved millions of gallons of water, reduced energy consumption, and diverted solid waste through practices like composting. The NY Parks 2020 Plan invests in our state’s green spaces through land conservation, trail rehabilitation, improving nature centers, creating playgrounds, and transforming state parks.
We are also proud to welcome Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy and Saratoga Springs Mayor Meg Kelly as special guest speakers.
