The New York League of Conservation Voters recently presented Congressman Tom Suozzi with its 2025 Clean Water Champion Award, recognizing his decades-long commitment to protecting Long Island’s water quality and the environment.
“Whether it was orchestrating major cleanups of Superfund and brownfield sites as Mayor of Glen Cove, investing in water quality as Nassau County Executive, or securing federal funds for water infrastructure and the Long Island Sound as a congressman, Tom Suozzi has a long track record of using public service to protect the environment,” said NYLCV President Julie Tighe. “We’re thrilled to recognize his ongoing leadership with our 2025 Clean Water Champion Award.”
Congressman Suozzi has been a leading advocate for clean water throughout his career. His efforts have included securing critical federal funding for Long Island Sound restoration, supporting upgrades to wastewater treatment infrastructure, and advancing policies that protect drinking water from contaminants like nitrogen pollution and emerging chemicals.
NYLCV looks forward to working alongside Congressman Suozzi to ensure that clean water and protecting Long Island’s environment remains a top priority for the New York Congressional Delegation.
