The League throws their support behind 12 candidates for Westchester County Legislature, two candidates for Mayor and six for Town Supervisor across the county.
The New York League of Conservation Voters Gives Green is excited to announce our next round of endorsements in Westchester County for the 2023 election cycle. With a total of 20 new endorsements, we are proud to support candidates who have demonstrated a strong commitment to protecting our environment and promoting smart environmental policies. In addition to 12 candidates for the County Legislature, NYLCV is endorsing candidates for mayor in Croton-on-Hudson and Peekskill, as well as for Town Supervisor in Bedford, Cortlandt, Greenburgh, Lewisboro, North Salem, and Pound Ridge.
“It is clear that the environment and climate change are moving up the ladder of issues that voters prioritize when choosing their candidate,” said NYLCV President Julie Tighe. “We are thrilled to endorse these outstanding candidates for elected office. We are confident that they will be strong advocates for clean energy, green jobs, and a healthier future, and we urge voters to support them in their upcoming election.”
Last year was a big year for the environment at the ballot box. A record number of candidates sought NYLCV’s endorsement–indicating that the environment continues to grow in importance for voters–and New Yorkers overwhelmingly, and in bipartisan fashion, approved the Environmental Bond Act. NYLCV looks forward to carrying this momentum into the 2023 election and beyond, and we are proud to endorse the following candidates for elected office:
