Statement on U.S. Senate Passing Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal

The New York League of Conservation Voters released this statement following the passage of the bipartisan infrastructure deal in the U.S. Senate:

Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters, said, “The U.S. Senate is taking a major step forward to protect clean drinking water and promote clean transportation. The bipartisan infrastructure deal will make the largest investment in U.S. history in reducing water contamination, encouraging the growth of electric vehicles, and updating mass transit.  Thank you Senator Schumer for your leadership!  Now, we need Congress to make even bolder investments in renewable energy, green, union jobs, and environmental justice at a scale needed to fight the climate crisis.  NYLCV stands ready to work with New York’s congressional delegation on making the aggressive climate recovery agenda a reality.”
