Statement on the Signing of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

The New York League of Conservation Voters released this statement following the signing of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act by President Joe Biden.

Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters said, “The New York League of Conservation Voters is pleased to see the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signed by the President. This Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will provide billions to New York State, with $3 billion for clean water initiatives, including to address lead; $10 billion for public transit; $300 million for bike infrastructure; and $175 million for electric car charging stations as well as hundreds of millions invested in resiliency projects and $5 billion nationwide for implementing zero-emissions and low-emissions electric school bus fleets. This is a great first step, but now Congress must pass the Build Back Better Act to match the urgency the moment requires and  truly take on the climate crisis.”
