The New York League of Conservation Voters released the following statement:
Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters, said, “New York finds itself at a tipping point – with a climate action mission that is as ambitious as it is necessary. Our State must make significant investments to reach its goal of relying on 70% renewable energy by 2030; investments designed to build a firm foundation for our clean energy future and replace the fossil fuel infrastructure of yesterday. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has received Tier 4 Proposals for multiple projects that each could help to achieve this goal.
Tier 4 provides New York City a long-overdue lifeline for accessing renewable energy. When it comes to this critical moment in time, NYLCV believes New York cannot afford to go backward or stand still. We look forward to seeing NYSERDA move forward with multiple of these worthy proposals; clean energy projects that protect the air, water, and people of New York from further harm.”
