NYLCV Statement on NYC Public Advocate Election Results

President Julie Tighe said, “Congratulations to Jumaane Williams on becoming NYC’s next Public Advocate! As the Chair of the Council’s Housing & Buildings Committee last session, he worked to pass legislation that helped reduce indoor asthma hazards including mold – one of NYLCV’s top priorities. He also supported the Council’s Green Buildings legislative package that expanded energy efficiency requirements for buildings. We are proud that Williams has earned a perfect score of 100% on our environmental scorecard since 2016. That’s why we are confident that he’ll work to ensure the City meets its OneNYC goals and its goal of LeadFreeNYC. We look forward to working together.”
