NYLCV statement on letter to Congress regarding public transit

The New York League of Conservation Voters released the following statement regarding the letter that was sent to Congress about funding for mass transit.

Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters, said, “We thank the national League of Conservation Voters, Natural Resources Defense Council, and Sierra Club for sending this letter urging Congress to pass the HEROES Act which includes $32 billion in funding for mass transit. Reliable and well-funded public transit is essential to combating the climate crisis and protecting public health. We cannot handle more congestion, vehicle emissions, and pollution.”
