The New York League of Conservation Voters released the following statement in response to Governor Cuomo’s veto of legislation to legalize e-bikes and e-scooters.
Julie Tighe, President of NYLCV, said, “We are disappointed that Governor Cuomo vetoed legislation to legalize e-bikes and e-scooters. As transportation is the largest contributor to climate change, we need to expand access to zero-emission transportation options like these. We look forward to working with Governor Cuomo in 2020 to find a path forward that addresses any safety concerns in a way that does not discourage ridership. NYLCV will continue to make this commonsense policy a priority in 2020.”
