Vote for the Environment

The best way to stay civically engaged and to advocate for the environment and environmental justice communities is by making sure you cast your ballot.

Vote for Pro-Environment Candidates

Want to know which candidate will be a champion for the environment? View our list of endorsed candidates to see who we gave a seal of approval.

This year, the State is making voting accessible for all during the COVID pandemic. Early Voting and regular Election Day polling sites will remain open this year, and the State Legislature passed a bill to allow all registered voters to vote absentee this year.

Voting in person

Election Day is on November 3rd. Polls are open from 6am to 9pm. Find your regular polling site here: https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov. NYC voters can also find information at vote.nyc.

Voting for candidates that support policies to fight climate change, protect our natural resources, and advance environmental justice is one of the most important ways that you can make a difference – even from home. We hope you’ll join us in casting your ballot for the environment later this month.

If you prefer to vote through an absentee ballot

This fall, all New York voters can vote by mail due to the risk of contracting COVID-19. The absentee ballot application deadline was on October 27th and all ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, November 3rd.
