NYLCV joined two dozen environmental groups from across New York to lobby more than 60 members of the state legislature on 10 bills to advance environmental justice, protect drinking water, ban harmful chemicals, support sustainable waste management, and protect natural habitats. On Earth Day, Mayor de Blasio announced that the city's food scrap collection program would restart and a transition to electric school buses citywide, among other initiatives. We have long been advocating for both of these policies, including as founding members of the NYC Clean School Bus Coalition.
