We are excited to share the news that New York City Council passed legislation that will require construction and design of city-owned buildings to meet the highest LEED standards.

Residents are submitting their own plan for the East Harlem rezoning, through an effort led by Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito. The rezoning process, part of Mayor Bill de Blasio's Affordable Housing Plan, raised a few alarms after its announcement.

New York City's most notorious source of pollution has finally gone by the wayside. In an announcement last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio revealed that the city has completely rid itself of heating fuel No. 6, a highly toxic oil long used to keep buildings warm during the winter.

The move reaffirms New York State's commitment to clean energy policy, at a time when the President's critical climate plan has essentially been paused.

On the evening of February 4, 2016, Mayor Bill de Blasio presented his third State of the City Speech. The speech, delivered in the Bronx, highlighted what he is doing to promote sustainability, green energy, and transportation initiatives.
