For New York to transition to a clean energy economy, we can’t just talk about projects, we need to deliver. When New York State’s Public Service Commission (PSC) voted in October to deny price adjustments for large-scale renewable energy projects, putting them at risk, we urged the administration to act quickly to minimize the damage, and today’s announcement is an important step to getting new projects in the pipeline as soon as possible. By initiating new bids for offshore wind and land-based projects – less than two months after the PSC’s vote – Governor Hochul is demonstrating her commitment to meeting the CLCPA goals and ensuring New York remains a national leader in the fight against climate change.
