We are one week away from the start of early voting and just over two weeks out from Election Day. We encourage everyone to cast their ballots during the early voting period, which runs from Saturday, October 26 – that’s also the last day to register to vote before the general election – to Sunday, November 3. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.
Make sure you’re prepared; check our voting website to learn about your voting rights, see how to register, where to vote, check deadlines and more.
With the climate crisis accelerating and the impacts of a warming planet becoming more apparent each day, the stakes of the upcoming election could not be higher.

“We are excited to endorse this slate of impressive environmental champions, all of whom are committed to fighting for clean energy, green jobs, and a healthier future,” said NYLCV President Julie Tighe. “With so much on the line this November, we urge voters to turn out and support our NYLCV-endorsed candidates up and down the ballot.”
NYLCV endorsed 144 candidates across New York this election cycle.
Of those NYLCV-endorsed candidates who ran against a primary opponent, a remarkable 95% declared victory and we are confident that this momentum will carry through to the general election in November.
It’s important to make a plan to ensure you are able to vote, and the convenience of early voting just makes that easier. Voting early saves you time (no long lines!) and helps make elections run more smoothly. If you already have a plan to vote, check in on your friends and make sure they do too!
Take the Pledge to Vote Early!
Together, by committing to vote early we can help elect candidates who will prioritize clean air, clean water, and open space, as well as the critical mission of fighting climate change. Remember, the most important thing we can do for the environment is vote.
