Development Manager

The New York League of Conservation Voters is the only statewide environmental organization in New York that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy and open space through political action. We’re non-partisan, pragmatic and effective. Along with its sister organizations, the NYLCV Education Fund, NYLCV Gives Green and the NYLCV PAC, we educate the public about a broad range of important issues, evaluate the performance of elected officials, and endorse and elect by campaigning for the passage of laws during the legislative season and candidates in the electoral season.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our staff as Development Manager. This position works closely with the Development team to assist with all aspects of our fundraising activities for the organization. The Development Manager will also serve as the point person for planning and execution of all fundraising events. The Development Manager reports to the Senior Director of Development and supports the operations of the Development Department, including overseeing our highly successful Corporate Partners Program. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is organized and professional with a meticulous attention to detail and superior oral communication skills.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage all fundraising events including our 700+ person Gala as well as 100-200 person regional events. Oversee all event details, liaise with venue management, guest speakers and other special guests. 
  • Track sponsorships and ticket sales for all events and collaborate with the Development team on how to achieve revenue goals. Support cultivation of new sponsors. 
  • Work with event venues and vendors to manage all event logistics from invitations to speakers and more.
  • Support the Sr. Director of Development in executing an annual fundraising plan to reach fundraising goals, particularly for events, the corporate partners program and individual giving. 
  • Assist with political fundraising for NYLCV Gives Green, our state political action committee.
  • Utilize our database for gift processing and tracking and to keep up to date donor records.
  • Oversee the highly successful Corporate Partners Program, including outreach to current members and prospects.
  • Support the Senior Director of Development in building our individual giving program, including with mid and major level donors.
  • Work with the Development team to engage with board members and manage board engagement reports.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Four to six years of relevant experience in development and/or events management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage successful high-profile, large-scale events. Highly organized, attentive to details, and adept at maintaining numerous tracking lists. 
  • Excellent oral communication skills. Competency communicating professionally with board members, corporate partners and donors.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage up with executive leadership to achieve department goals.
  • Strong proficiency and experience with Google Suite and Database/CRM experience required. Experience with EveryAction is a plus.

Work Location: NYLCV is based in lower Manhattan and works in a hybrid work environment. Applicants must be based in the New York metropolitan area.

Work Hours/Schedule: Full time, Monday – Friday, 9:30AM – 5:30PM with occasional evenings to attend events

Pay: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
