In New York, over 30% of our emissions come from the transportation sector. We are working to support new methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from public to private transportation methods. By finding new transportation alternatives, we will help in reaching the reduction of 80% by 2050.

In regards to public transportation, we are in support of increasing bus rapid transit, “rails to trails” conversions, ferry service, the connection of bike trails, and promoting the continuance of biking and walking. We are also working towards ways to increase the resilience and protection of areas prone to flooding.

We are working with state and local sources to promote an increase in funding for items such as the deployment of plug-in electric vehicles by installing electric charging stations, and an increase in cleaner-running vehicles. In addition, we are pushing towards the expansion of car-sharing and reducing single car occupancy.
