Yadira Ramos-Herbert

Yadira Ramos-Herbert, currently a New Rochelle City Council Member, is running for election for Mayor of New Rochelle. As a council member, Ramos-Herbert has supported a shift towards green systems and infrastructures, especially within the transportation sector. She is an active advocate of the LINC, an environmental justice initiative to convert parts of Memorial Highway, which cuts through the heart of New Rochelle’s African American community, into a pedestrian walkway and greenspace, reducing the community’s exposure to air pollution, reduce heat, and assist in stormwater collection. If elected, she plans to continue working on projects which improve existing residential and commercial recycling programs, along with those that reduce solid waste.
