Elected in 2013 to represent district 57 in the New York State Assembly, Walter Mosley has been an active advocate for environmental protection, clean energy incentives, and sustainable development throughout the state.
Currently a member of the New York State Caucus of Environmental Legislators, Mosley has overseen the incorporation of important legislation to incentivize electric vehicle usage and prohibit radioactive or hazardous waste movement near school property.
Additionally, he has supported legislation addressing environmental resiliency, authorizing land banks and bike paths in forest reserves as well as protecting farmland and preserving regional foodsheds. His recent voting record secured him an 88% on the 2017 NYLCV Environmental scorecard, which indicates his backing of biofuel home heating systems and creating a more comprehensive plan for state transportation funding.
Going forward, Mosley is prepared to maintain his high-level commitment to ensuring that low income communities have access to affordable clean energy and to funding programs that encourage food donations.
