Tony Avella

Tony Avella is running to represent District 19 in the New York City Council. Avella has prioritized the environment throughout his previous service as City Council Member and New York State Senator, and has championed the fight against cuts in the City’s Parks budget. He is committed to the prevention of storm surges and flooding in vulnerable areas, the development of urban agriculture practices, and the shift towards renewable energy resources. If elected, he plans to introduce the necessary legislation to acquire additional green space, target funds towards improved mass transit, and improve the resilience of the City.
