Thomas McKevitt

Thomas McKevitt is running for re-election as legislator of Nassau County’s 13th district. He has supported the Sustainable Energy Loan Program, expanded renewable energy programs, and voted to adopt the Climate Smart Communities pledge. He supports initiatives to provide for the construction and operation of offshore wind, which he describes as an essential project to protect Long Island and reduce emissions. He also voted in favor of the Commercial Property Sustainable Energy Loan Program in 2018, which provides financing to local businesses to fund renewable energy systems. He voted in favor of access to open space and parkland in 2018 so that all Nassau County-owned public spaces are open to the public. If re-elected, McKevitt will continue this record of voting in favor of strong environmental policies.
