Susan Zhuang is running for election to represent District 43 in New York City Council.

Susan Zhuang is running for re-election in NYC Council District 43. As a dedicated advocate for environmental issues, Zhuang has organized monthly neighborhood cleanups and allocated funds to environmental groups. She is committed to making her district more sustainable by supporting programs that enhance green space and prioritize recycling. Zhuang believes in the importance of educating future generations, teaching her children to avoid plastic straws and to be mindful of waste. Looking ahead, Zhuang plans to expand these efforts by supporting green infrastructure projects that will create green jobs, particularly in frontline communities. She is focused on decarbonizing buildings, investing in solar energy for low-income areas, and expanding thermal energy systems to reduce energy bills. Additionally, she supports the electrification of the MTA bus fleet, addressing waste management challenges, and ensuring stronger protections for public housing, particularly in flood-prone areas. If re-elected Zhuang will work to enhance urban agriculture programs, improveĀ  air quality, and nurture more sustainable food systems in underserved neighborhoods.
