Samuel Fein

Samuel Fein is running for re-election as legislator for Albany County 6th district. Since being elected in 2015, Fein has been a member of the Public Works and Conservation, Sustainability, and Green Initiatives Committees. He has advocated strongly for environmental justice issues in the county, such as by protecting the health of Ezra Prentice public housing residents and stopping Norlite Hazardous Waste Incinerator in Cohoes from burning hazardous waste. Additionally, Fein has authored legislation that requires PFAS testing for leachate received by the Albany County water treatment plant, which goes into the Hudson River after treatment. If re-elected, Fein plans to continue fighting for fare-free transit for SNAP enrollees to make public transit more accessible.
