Ryan McGarry

Ryan McGarry is running for election to the  Suffolk County Legislature’s 7th district. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for environmental causes. As the Chief of Staff and a Government and Community Relations Specialist, McGarry has been pivotal in overseeing sewer infrastructure and septic system projects in Suffolk County. These initiatives aim to significantly decrease nitrogen levels in our waterways, protect our environment, create job opportunities, increase coastal resiliency, and revitalize heritage industries. Additionally, McGarry has been involved in various land preservation efforts and has hosted numerous town and river clean-up events during his time in the County Executive’s Intergovernmental Relations Offices. He also supports the development of Offshore Wind, the Suffolk County Water Quality Restoration Act, the advancement of wind and solar energy projects, the acquisition of electric vehicles, and the establishment of EV charging lots. If elected, McGarry hopes to continue his work towards these goals and bring them to fruition.
