Russel Pokorny

Russell Pokorny is running for re-election as Supervisor for the Town of Knox. As Town Supervisor, he promoted the creation of the Conservation Advisory Council, which promotes responsible stewardship of the environment. He has overseen the installation of a 35 kW grid-tied solar array, which reduces Knox’s municipal electricity demand by 80%. Knox is a hub of farmers’ initiatives, focusing on sustainable agriculture and locally grown foods. Pokorny has also developed open spaces, including a 40-acre town park with walking paths and recreational areas. If re-elected, Pokorny hopes to continue ensuring the town’s water quality by establishing baselines and monitoring processes.
