Matthew Peter

Matthew Peter is running for re-election as legislator for Albany County’s 5th district. During his time in office, he has sponsored or helped advance legislation toward the solarization of county buildings, pushed incentives for developers to reduce their carbon footprints, and increased electric vehicle chargers in public spaces. Peter has also strongly advocated for increasing and enhancing walkability, green spaces, and public transportation. If re-elected, Peter plans to build on the success of the rail trail and add to cross-municipality bike and pedestrian infrastructure.
