Lynn Schulman is seeking re-election to represent District 29 in the New York City Council. Schulman has demonstrated a dedication to the expansion of green space as a public health agenda for the City to reduce heat vulnerability in communities that are most at risk. She has been involved in the Queensway project, the transformation of an abandoned railway in Central Queens into a family-friendly park and cultural greenway, since its inception 10 years ago. She is working on legislation on mandatory composting and is working on coastal resiliency projects, water pollution, increased storm activity, and rising sea levels. If elected, Schulman hopes to expand food access programs through education on healthy eating and support of commercial and communal urban farming and increase NYC public transit ridership and accessibility.
