Taking office in 2015, Kennedy recently supported the installation of a waste system at Suffolk County’s R park which has been completed, and a similar system at both the Brookhaven and Islip town parks. She has supported the conversion of energy throughout county buildings to become more renewable and eco-friendly. Regarding transportation, she supports increasing high-speed bus lanes and walkability efforts throughout District 12. Kennedy supports future planning to enhance the resiliency of wastewater treatment facilities, power infrastructure, and all estuary plans. If re-elected, she will continue her support for anaerobic digesters at county sewer facilities, as well as improving downtown sustainability.
