Joshua Lafazan

Joshua Lafazan is running for re-election as legislator of Nassau County’s 18th District.

Joshua Lafazan is running for re-election as legislator of Nassau County’s 18th District. As a legislator, Lafazan co-sponsored a bill to reduce plastic usage significantly by imposing a 5-cent fee on plastic bags. He has also strongly advocated for the Bay Park Project, which aims to decrease nitrogen levels in the county’s waterways. Additionally, he has been working towards making Nassau County a leader in the green transition by requiring the county’s government operations be carbon-neutral by 2035. This effort includes implementing solar panels, intelligent sensors, efficient insulation, green roofs, and other measures to make buildings energy-efficient and eco-friendly. If re-elected, Joshua plans to expand charging stations for personal electric vehicles, improve the waste management system in Nassau County, and create plans to restore streams and other water resources at the regional, county, and local levels.
